Snow and cool nights have seen Main Southwest Miramichi River drop about 8" overnight on top of the 12" it fell the day before.
Ice just below Porter Cove Bridge has dropped down river, main channel still holding an ice jam upstream for about 2 km with water and ice flows by passing along open back channels around two islands. Main river clear to at least above Boiestown. A lot of ice still hugging the north side of the river making access difficult.
At this point I would not suggest rushing out to fish.
