1st October 2009

We are moving through the year, only 14 more days left in the fishing season. Miramichi dropped slightly but remains high enough to spread the fish all over the river. Although our recent quests saw fish they didn't tie into any. If we can get a bit more drop in water with the bright fish coming in we should be able to tie into a few before season end.

I'm amazed at one particular outfitter's claims found in Doug Underhill's weekly river report, whose clients seemingly take large quantities of salmon even in low fishing periods. There are a number of good pools on the Miramichi and when all but one are reporting weak fishing it makes the one suspect and the locals laugh. My reports are as it is, there are fish or there are no fish.

We still have a few days left open at the beginning of deer season (End of Oct into Nov).

If anyone is interested in booking in December, or around the Holiday Period I recommend you contact us. If we have no bookings in that period confirmed by the end of November the cottage will likely be closed until May 2010. (506) 369-9880
